The Domaine:
The Summer School takes place at the Domaine de Bel Air estate. It consists of a 19th century manoir with large outbuildings (used for classrooms and meals) surrounded by a small park and woods.
There is a heated covered pool and mountain bikes can be hired in the afternoons.
The estate is located south of Le Mans and about one hour to the north of the Loire Valley in Western France (maps). UNESCO inscribed the central part of the Loire river valley on its prestigious list of World Heritage sites in 2000. It is famous for its numerous Renaissance chateaux, gentle landscape and vineyards producing fine wines.
Meals:
The fantastic Domaine de Bel Air catering team provide healthy and tasty meals. The food is broadly french in style but salads,vegetables and fruit are plentiful. There is a vegetarian option if required.
- 8.30 am : Continental breakfast
- 1.00 pm : Buffet style lunch with soft drinks.
- 8.00 pm : Three course meal with local wines
and beer.
Please note lunch is not included on the day of the excursion.
